The “line crossings” were not limited to the image of a mollusk however the majority of them are images of the shells collected and traded by my mother & father. Their collection began in Panama (1947-1952) and my mother maintained an interest in the collection and an affiliation with Tucker Abbott and the Museum of Natural History in Philadelphia through the 1950’s. The shells I scanned were chosen for their color, shape & sometimes line quality. While I worked on these pieces the possibilities seemed endless. Barely scratching the surface of the visual interaction of form, line and color.
