To some extent all the work from 1974 forward is either an explanation of, an exploration of or a variant of the figurative paintings & ideas that lead to Foam Flow, or Colors Running Against Planes.  The “line crossings” are an examination of the boundary at the edge (of the painting) and the form that extends beyond that boundary.

It is not a very complicated process but the variations are endless.  For the exhibition at District West Fine Art the scale of the work was very intimate it would be interesting to see how these would work on a larger scale.
